Ann and Marty's Wedding

Ann Torborg and Marty Spanish were married May 31 in St. Joseph Minnesota, right around Memorial Day, when the town was decked in flags and gorgeous May sunshine. Marty is a dentist and Ann is a veterinarian, and they are friends with Michaela and Eddie Gwiazdon, whose wedding we photographed in 2005! It was great to see them again. Ann's parents live in the lovely little town of St. Joseph so they chose St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a beautiful stone church that looks like it's right out of England. The reception was at the St. Cloud Civic Center to accommodate all their family and friends from there, Savage, and the University of Minnesota at Duluth where they went to school. The Carlson Room was all decked out in twinkly lights, white lilies and bridal arches, taking everyone's breath away. The day went without a hitch and somehow the nasty hailstorm that affected other parts of the Twin Cities that day completely spared St. Cloud. Please leave a message for Ann, Marty, or us! Natalie and Gary

Every once in a while we are called to do a sweet little ceremony with a wonderful story behind it. Natalie Walker and Gary Gray were married at the home of the Honorable Judge John E. Cass in Stillwater recently.  It was a simple ceremony performed by the judge but their story isn't simple. Here is a wonderful middle-age couple who met when they were kids, got married - but not to each other, raised separate families, and now find themselves through various twists of fate together again. They have known each other for 50 years and only now is romance blooming. Gary brought a black and white photo taken when they were teenagers. He asked me to duplicate the pose. Janine and Jason

Janine Brinkman and Jason Gagnon were a delight to photograph last week. Janine has the voice of an angel, and we met when she was singing at a wedding we photographed a few years ago. She is a choir teacher at a Cooper High School and Jason is a social studies teacher there.  They are the most romantic, fun-loving couple I have met in a while.... and they were game as I dragged them all over Nicolette Island for an engagement session. They are so photogenic too! What more could a photographer ask. 

Their wedding is coming up very soon - July 12 - with the ceremony at the Lake of the Isles church in Minneapolis and reception at the Jax Cafe. Click on any image to open larger and

Nate and Liz

Nate Kro and Liz Davis went on an engagement session with me last week at the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul. They are a fun and good-natured couple who will be married June 20, 2009. They met at the University of Minnesota. Liz, who hails from Marquette, Michigan, is aiming for a medical social work career and has worked in hospice. Nate's from Bismark, North Dakota and is an electrical and computer engineer. It was fun to get to know them before the wedding, which is still a year away!
