Kelly and David

Kelly Knapp and David Backes were in downtown St. Paul with us on November 29 for a fun but freezin' engagement session. They are a great couple inside and out. David was briefly in town for a hockey game - he's a pro player with the St. Louis Blues - and Kelly has just graduated from college with a degree in health science. They were such fun to photograph, with a great attitude despite the single-digit temps outside. Their wedding is June 14 2008 with the ceremony at the Nazareth Chapel at Northwestern College and the reception at the Northland Inn where we did Courtney and Justin Salzl's wedding this year. Did I say they met in kindergarten? That's a long courtship for you. We initially thought it would be fun to find a little classroom where they could have sat across from each other in tiny chairs. But David only had a few hours before his game so the surrounds of the St. Paul hotel had to do. Click on any image to open larger. Please leave a comment for us!

Albums and Things to Buy Now Posted

We finally did it! Nick and I posted online galleries of our custom album and printing options on the main web site. Go to www.wendywoods.com and click on Things to Buy. Our top three selling album styles are featured as well as smaller albums, our framing and canvas work, portrait boxes, etc. Eventually I will also put up card samples. It's all for your convenience. Rather than travel all the way to Stillwater to visit my studio, you can now get a good idea online of what we can do with the images you receive. It's my way of helping you reduce your carbon footprint! But then you are always welcome to stop by and see things in person. Cheers!

Better Homes and Gardens Features Our Wedding

Kyle and Brian Woods' wedding is featured in a current edition of Better Homes and Gardens online! This had to be one of the most elegant weddings we have photographed, with every detail carefully planned out to make everything go perfectly. Weddings like this are also fun to photograph, and for this one I was joined for a short while by Joe Dickie and Noah Wolf, two great Twin Cities wedding photographers. We must have done over 3,000 images on their wedding there was so much to photograph. Erica's Baby

***Update! Elizabeth Erica Falconer (nickname 'Elsie') was born Monday, December 10th at 2pm. Erica says "She is so beautiful and weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. We have had a great week getting to know each other and she is perfect (no bias, of course!). She has a great personality and we are very excited." See Erica's photo at the bottom.***

Erica and Alex Falconer are a great couple whose wedding we photographed a few years ago and now, Erica is joyfully pregnant - due any day if it hasn't happened already! A few weeks ago she and Alex came to the studio to capture the last days of her pregnancy. These two have such a wonderful relationship, so that is one lucky baby coming into this world. Also, you may notice that I am doing some experimenting with textural overlays. What do you think? I think it adds a nice mood and extra dimension to photography. Click on any image to open larger.
