Anna and Matthew's Wedding
Anna Blem and Matthew Hogen were married October 6 in a little town about 2 1/2 hours west of the Twin Cities called Olivia. It was a gorgeous fall day, the colors at their peak, and Olivia is a little town right out of a Norman Rockwell painting, with a main street full of thriving stores, tree-lined streets, and homes like Anna's parents have - a cozy place full of knick-knacks and family photos and wall hangings and a lot of family! where Anna got dressed with her sister and bridesmaids. After a bit of a quandry as to how to fit the veil in her hair - those combs can be daunting! - Anna and Matthew had a private meeting in her parents' backyard, which faces a golf course. The light and spaciousness made their meeting all the lovelier. Their ceremony was at Olivia's Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church and then it was on to Jackpot Junction for the reception in Morton, Minnesota. This wedding party photo was my attempt to emulate Annie Liebowitz' "Last Supper" portrait of the Sopranos. Close!! But no cigar. Matthew was great as the shady big winner. The band was Diane Martinson's Elevation band which is one amazing group, playing swing and jazz as well as pop classics. It was a wonderful time.
