Melanie and Steven Seyler - Wedding in the Caves

What a weekend wedding! It all started Friday - on my way to the rehearsal I got a call from a WCCO reporter who was looking to do a feature story on a couple getting married in the forecast snowstorm! See it here! Fortunately we had one. Reporter Bridgette Bornstein showed up at Melanie and Steve's rehearsal at the Wabasha Caves to interview them and me about their plans - there were some cancellations from guests but the wedding was to go on - and we were in the first segment of the 10 o'clock news that night! Fortunately the snow wasn't as bad as expected, so the wedding went as planned, with dressing at the St. Paul Hotel and the ceremony and reception at the Caves. Melanie took everyone's breath away in her gown - she truly looked like a queen in her Renaissance-style gown which took six months to make. At the Caves Steve and his gang had brought Nerf guns to fit the mood of this former gangster nightclub. The couple chose not to see each other beforehand, so when Melanie walked down the aisle, we could all see the amazement in Steven's face. A great party followed, with wonderful food and music. The final photographs of the night were of Steven and Melanie outside in the snow enjoying a moment alone. Thank you Melanie and Steven and everyone for allowing us to be a part of this amazing day. Minnesota Magazine - Windy and Chris's Wedding

Minnesota Magazine's March issue features one of our favorite couple's wedding! Congrats Windy and Chris Bowlsby! Their wedding at the Heights Theater was one of the most amazing weddings we have ever photographed. No detail was spared, from the hand-made gowns and costumes to the ceremony with music and singing - to the changing of the marquis which read briefly "One Wedding, No Funerals." Then it was off to the MacNamara Alumni Center for a spectacular reception, complete with a movie and wall-to-wall cheesecakes by my favorite bakers Muddy Paws. It was amazing from start to finish. Windy is a director and actress and Chris works in graphic design. To see the article online go here. Here are a few images from the article and the wedding. Thanks to Bruce and Matthew at the Twin City Bridal Association for writing the article!

Karin Rush and Onallee Serier

Karin Rush and Onallee Serier were here a few days ago to refresh their headshot portfolios. Karin is the artist behind our new walls, so naturally we used those as the backdrop for her portraits. Karen wore this gorgeous Renaissance-type dress and it beautifully compliments her hair and skin. She just glowed in the natural light of the studio. Onallee is a local gal who caught my eye a few years ago when she was featured in an ad by local dentist Dr. Ned Windmiller. Along with her husband, we did a portrait of them dancing in the middle of a Stillwater street in the early evening. She agreed to also be talent for a Lakeview Hospital assignment we had a couple of weeks ago, so now we have finally convinced her to get serious about her potential as a model. She's got that great look for advertisers trying to appeal to healthy, vibrant retirees. Don't you think? I just think she looks great. Click on any image to open larger. Know anyone who needs a new headshot? Ask them to give me a call. This was fun!

Kristine and Justin

Kristine Kupper and Justin Nelson have great smiles and a great attitude. She's a teller for Wells Fargo and he's a second grade teacher. Nick and I have the honor of photographing their wedding July 7 in Minneapolis. Friends of my other wedding clients, Lisa and Lindsay Kroog, they plan to have the ceremony at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church near Lake Harriet. Yesterday still was too cold for outdoor engagement portraits so we headed over to the Walker Art Center. This place has so many fun nooks and crannies - it's like a funhouse for photographers. From the Internet access spots to the audio exhibits, to the hip Wolfgang Puck lounge overlooking Hennepin Avenue, it's a great space and every time I go there I get new ideas.
