SOS Players is a teen acting troupe which travels mainly the Midwest area, performing shows on social issues that affect young people today. They perform in schools and at conventions, conferences and churches. Their message is that of hope and positive decision-making, accomplished through the medium of prevention theatre. It's a terrific group of young, talented actors and inspiring leaders. I photographed them at their home theater in Hudson today for a new brochure and web site they're designing. What a great, spirited group, under the dynamic leadership of Sue Oberg and her staff. These kids should be seen nationally! Certainly they deserve all the local news coverage they can get. Support SOS Players. Invite them to your school or church for a show. You will be totally blown away. Click on any image to open a larger version with more detail.
The weather was unseasonably cool, and there was plenty of teeth-chattering and more hugging than usual, but that only made everyone's affection for each other much more noticeable at Maren Anderson and Robb Miller's wedding Saturday. From the first meeting at their home in Minneapolis, these two connected so beautifully throughout the day, and watching them was a joy. It was so apparent to everyone that this would be a great marraige. Robb is a freelance illustrator and an actor, and a very funny guy as is his brother Pete. Maren is a promotions manager at Supervalu. The ceremony was at a Black Bear Crossing pavilion in Como Park in St. Paul and the reception was in the new Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Visitor's Center. I had wondered how they were going to get all those tables in the long entry hall, but it worked. Everything went beautifully. Amazing food from Lance Catering too. Yum! Check out the light during the dance... just gorgeous. The exterior of the hall, all lit up at night, is an architectural wonder. Here are a few of my favorite pics as I download the images....
