Welcome to my blog! Come on in and say hello!
I started in broadcasting - WIXT in Syracuse, CNN, ABC, KGO, Newsbytes, and Washington Post-Newsweek Interactive - before leaving the news business to start my own photography studio. I have never looked back. Photography is such a kick! My favorite photographers include Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, and Annie Liebowitz. My inspiration also comes from the world of art and when not working, I love going to museums.
Nick and I have two children, Sam Gorski, 21, a senior this year at the University of Wisconsin Madison, majoring in cinema, and Miranda Gorski, 19, who is a theater major at Columbia College in Chicago. Miranda is one of our staff photographers during the summer months. We also have three surrogate "kids" for our newly empty nest: pugs Mimi and Spanky, and a Siamese cat Tsing Tao.
We love making great pictures. We also love doing good work for a good cause. If it's a cause for animals, nature, or children, we are happy to devote our photographic skills to help. Among the non-profit causes we have donated our time and photography to are Home for Life (a no-kill animal shelter), Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, SOS Teen Theater, and others. Wendy is also an avid gardener and a vegetarian. We both aspire to leave the world a better place for our children and yours and hope you feel the same way.
